Sprague Pest Solutions is seeking a Talent Development Specialist at our corporate office in Tacoma WA, to provide recruiting support to our multiple locations and support our corporate training initiatives.

Position Summary

The primary function of the Talent Development Specialist is to support the mission of Sprague by providing expertise to attract, retain, develop and train personnel through the coordination of both technical and non-technical training and development activities within Sprague.  Assess company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives.  Actively search, creatively design and implement effective methods to educate and enhance employee performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the full cycle recruiting process from the initiation of job requests to data entry of new hire information
  • Generate interest in the company through recruiting activities
  • Create, post, and update current job openings on the company website
  • Administer pre-employment tests to determine qualifications
  • Maintain recruiting email and Applicant Stack database
  • Communicate with candidates and managers to keep them informed on the hiring status
  • Coordinate the process of obtaining/maintaining state licensing for employees at multiple locations
  • Partner with others to identify training needs and develop and deliver plans to address needs
  • Utilize appropriate evaluation methods to measure performance and competency. Monitor and report the effectiveness of training
  • Promote the learning process through use of adult learning principles and proven presentation methods and exercises
  • Keeps abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory and new materials, methods and techniques
  • Assist with other HR Projects or responsibilities as required by management

·         Is able to learn and work in a variety of internet web-based application programs and computer database programs, including inputting data and running reports with accuracy.  
·         Is able to learn and run a variety of office equipment, including fax and copy machine.
·         Effectively organizes own work and completes on timely basis. Acts dependably to get things done right the first time. Considers positive and negative consequences before acting. Demonstrates a sense           of urgency and takes initiative when necessary.
·         Behaves in accordance with Sprague’s Commitment, Code of Ethics, Environmental Philosophy and Vision;  follows company policies and procedures
Education and/or Experience

·         Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is preferred. High school Diploma or GED is required.
·         2 + years’ experience with recruiting and training/curriculum design. 
·         Experience with a variety of computer programs to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point  and database program
·         Completion of professional development courses in training, instructional design, behavior modeling, software technology, speaking/writing/ communication, are desirable.  
·         Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
