Sprague Pest Solutions is a regional family owned business providing top notch service to some of the largest commercial companies in the western region since 1926.  We are looking for a Talent Development Specialist for our corporate office in Tacoma, WA who will play a crucial role in providing recruiting, human resources support to our multiple locations (WA, OR, ID, CA, UT, CO), and supporting our corporate training initiatives.

Position Summary

The primary function of the Talent Development Specialist is to support the mission of Sprague by providing expertise to attract, retain, develop and train personnel through the coordination of both technical and non-technical training and development activities within Sprague.  In this role, you will also assess company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives.  Actively search, creatively design and implement effective methods to educate and enhance employee performance.  You will play a key part in onboarding employees and welcome them into the Sprague Family.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the full cycle recruiting process from the initiation of job requests to data entry of new hire information
  • Generate interest in the company through recruiting activities
  • Create, post, and update current job openings on the company website
  • Administer pre-employment tests to determine qualifications
  • Maintain recruiting email and Applicant Stack database
  • Communicate with candidates and managers to keep them informed on the hiring status
  • Coordinate the process of obtaining/maintaining state licensing for employees at multiple locations
  • Partner with others to identify training needs and develop and deliver plans to address needs
  • Assist with other HR Projects or responsibilities as required by management
  • Manage Wellness Program
  • Monthly Training Coordination 
  • Employment Verifications
  • Badge Creation
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is preferred. High school Diploma or GED is required.
  • 2 + years’ experience with recruiting
  • Experience with training/curriculum design a plus
  • Experience with a variety of computer programs to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint  and database program
  • Completion of professional development courses in training, instructional design, behavior modeling, software technology, speaking/writing/ communication, are desirable.
